History
Slovenian Association Melbourne was founded in 1954 – proudly the first Slovenian club in Australia. From humble beginnings at a small property in Carlton, it has evolved to become a picturesque hospitality establishment over 17 acres in the beautiful undulating hills of Research with spectacular northerly views; the perfect Slovenian hillside setting.
Objectives
The Association was originally established for migrants of Slovenian origin to connect, coming together for many social, cultural and sporting activities. Members and friends of the Club enjoyed promoting Slovenian cultural and ethnic heritage, thereby contributing to the Australian multicultural way of life.
Today, the Slovenian Association Melbourne continues to thrive, with all generations of Slovenians staying connected to the rich cultural heritage that our founding members created. The Club offers venue function hire for the local community and hosts special events throughout the year for all to enjoy.
