A wine tour to three of the most beautiful wineries that Nillumbik has to offer.

Come join us on Sunday July 17 for a wine tour to three of the most beautiful wineries that Nillumbik has to offer.

Shaws Road

The bus, with a maximum of 24 passengers, will depart from the Slovenian Club at 11am. Our first stop will be Shaws Road Winery in Arthurs Creek. Our visit here includes a wine tasting in the downstairs cellar with the Winemaker showcasing 5 of their best wines. Following the tasting we move up to the restaurant to enjoy a 3-course meal with the Winemakers Platter to start, followed by your choice of 4 mains (goats cheese and summer greens tart for me please) and either a merlot poached Apted’s farm pears and berry panna cotta or white chocolate and hazelnut semi-freddo for dessert! Take a moment to enjoy the beautiful views over the Strathewen valley and the ranges in Kinglake before we get on the bus to our next destination – Buttermans Track Wines in St Andrews.

Winery Tour

Buttermans Track Wines is owned and operated by Gary, Louise and Joel Trist, a highly experienced wine family, with viticultural winemaker Gary, and Joel an experienced winemaker in the Burgundy and Tuscany wine regions of Europe. Established in 1991, as Queenstown Vineyards, they are known for their high-quality wine and their commitment to minimal chemical and technological intervention since 2008 using traditional wine making techniques. The range includes a natural sparkling, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sangiovese Rosé, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese and Syrah. Enjoy the views of the vineyard whilst we taste some of their exceptional wines, with the option for an afternoon barista made local coffee from Arthurs Creek or a selection of Yarra Valley Tea Co teas. Next, we board the bus for our final wine destination – Easthill Estate in Kangaroo Ground.

Wine Tour

Here we will be joined by winemakers Sarah and Harry who have planned a special afternoon of tastings with 6 of their wines and a big cheese grazing platter that we can enjoy whilst reading the tasting notes and listening to live music performed by James Mark, a local folk/country singer and songwriter. I can guarantee that you will not want to leave this view and this atmosphere but unfortunately all good things must come to an end and we hop back on the bus, relaxed after a peaceful day in the rolling hills, and head back to the Slovenian Club where we can witness the golden hour sunset over sweeping valley views from the club. A truly unforgettable experience that can’t be missed. Make sure you come and join us on what will be a very fun and relaxing day exploring our Nillumbik backyard! See you there!
